Ukens playliste fra Aggresso!
Still no new Myspace-site but I’m working (thinking) on it. To make up for it, we had the complete Longjohns line-up in the studio playing live. And, for the first time in Studentradios history I believe; 2 journos, a full band and a DOG in the studio at the same time. Seeing is believeing so check out our Facebook-site for the pics. The re-run is up at www.srib.no. Find us under “sendeplan” and click “lytt til reprise”. Heres this weeks playlist:
AGGRESSO! # 8 – 03.03.10
1. DOA – ITS NOT UNUSUAL (BUT IT SURE IS UGLY) (Alternative Tentacles)
both Maiken and me went skiing this weekend (but not together). Also, the Olympics are over and DOA is from Canaduh. And, uhm…
2. NORMA BATES – STEP OFF AND GO (Ninetone)
I downloaded their new effort “Hey You! Get Down” after recieving a mail from the record-label with the link and totally forgot about our music submission-policy. Anypo; 50% great punk rock n roll-record, 50% radio-proposal
3. SATAN TAKES A HOLIDAY – RUMBLE (I Made This/Tuba)
a way too short version of the Link Wray-classic from their self-titled debut
4. STORY OF THE YEAR – THE CHILDREN SING (Epitaph/Tuba)
this trendy American “hardcore”-bands new album is called “The Contstant”. They have Twitter-links to each bandemembers site on their Myspace. Nuff said I believe.
5. THE RABBLE – THIS WORLD IS DEAD (FEAT. MARK UNSEEN) (Filthy Lucre Enterprises/Border Music)
Maiken had a lot of fun with “The Battle’s Almost Over” from 2007. The band is going on tour in Europe (but not Norway) in March, which is possibly the reason they sent us their CD all the way from New Zeeland.
6. THE CLERKS – YOU SHOOK ME ALL NIGHT LONG (Wolverine)
finally, Maiken played this great ska-version of the AC/DC-classic (and not Kiss as Ive been saying) from the label-sampler “Saints and Sinners”
7. SILVER – HOMESICK (Bad Afro/VME)
played Kolbotn Wednesday and playing Oslo Friday.
-. interview God is Dead but Here’s thee Longjohns With Their Guide Through This Toxic Jungle
playing Garage Saturday. They took time off work (?) to come to the studio and talk about their many names, their music-video, the supportjob for Bjørn Hellfuck etc. The producer liked it so much he “brunch’ed” it. Brunch is the show where all the best stuff from the last week on the radio gets re-played. Oh la!
8. GREENLAND WHALEFISHERS – LORALAY (Deadlamb/Dirty Old Man/Mass Prod/Oi Tapes/Punker Pages/Rebellion)
from the brand new split 7″ w/The Tans (UK).
-. interview God is Dead but Here’s thee Longjohns With Their Guide Through This Toxic Jungle cont.
9. GOD IS DEAD BUT HERE’S THEE LONGJOHNS WITH THEIR GUIDE THROUGH THIS TOXIC JUNGLE – COLDBLOODED GIMP (LIVE)
live with guitar, standup-bass, “drums” and, ehr, some other guitar-instrument courtesy of their new member
10. THE GOO MEN – GOOD TO ME (No Fucking Hippies/Tuba)
11. THE DOLLY ROCKER MOVEMENT – SOLD FOR SINNERS (Bad Afro/VME)
12. X-RAY SPEX – OH BONDAGE UP YOURS (Virgin)
Monday is March the 8th. March the 8th is the international Women’s Day. Both Maiken and me likes the fact that this exists. So we played this femi-classic from 1978 to remind you all how important women are, also in the punkscene.
13. GOD IS DEAD BUT HERE’S THEE LONGJOHNS WITH THEIR GUIDE THROUGH THIS TOXIC JUNGLE – BRAINDEAD ROCK AND ROLL (demo)
a brand newly recorded song added to the end of the show
Next week we’ll, in addition to give you a report from the Longjohns-gig, have an interview with Ane Vegane who’s just come out with a new number of the political punk-zine “Sjølstyrt Liv”. And a bunch of new music. And news and concert-updates for the whole country. As usual.
Toodles.
